A brake drum is an integral part of an older style of brake system called the “drum brake”. The brake drum is a cylindrical drum that is attached to the inner portion of a car’s wheel. When the brake pedal is pressed, brake shoes push outwards against the inner surface of the brake drum, generating friction and slowing the car down.
Brake shoes are crescent-shaped and create friction to stop a vehicle in the drum brake system. They are commonly replaced alongside brake drums. Brake shoes and drums function similarly to brake pads and rotors, so it’s important to take care of both when repairing your drum brake.
In most cases, you will need to replace your brake shoes if you’re replacing your brake drums, so they can share the same wear pattern.

What's the best time we can come to you? We are a 100% mobile service, so we will come to wherever you car is located, be it at home, at work, at school, or even while you are in the mall shopping. We book any day of the week except Sunday. We even offer SAME DAY SERVICE in most instances!
On the day of your appointment you will receive a text message from our technician giving you an estimated time of arrival. Once on site, our technician will give your brakes a complete inspection, diagnosis your braking issues, and prescribe the appropriate service. From there it's up to you! There is no charge for the inspection, so if you decline your repair we will be on our way. Otherwise, with your approval, we will immediately commence your repairs. Once service is complete, you pay with cash or credit car or via one of our convenient financing options. That's it!
